Materials and Sheaths

Materials I use to make knives and types of sheaths I offer to my customers.

Steel
I use 154CM as the standard steel for most of my knives. 154CM has a proven track record that goes back many years.

Knives are professionally heat treated by people who care about their services and do it right on, every time.

Of course, as a custom knifemaker, I strive to accommodate those who may have a desire for other types of steels. If that's you,
call or email me.

Handle Materials
All knives come standard with your choice of Micarta or G10 handle material.

Black Black Black
Black / Red Green Green
Black / Green Maroon Brown
Red
Blue

Most exotic woods, stag, jigged bone, and ivory micarta are available at additional cost.
For questions or additional information contact me.

Sheaths
A good knife is useless without a good sheath. My rapid deployment Kydex sheaths are molded to each individual knife for a precise fit.

Kydex is a heat formable thermoplastic that is unaffected by cold or perspiration and its rigidity provides excellent protection for the knife… and the user. Kydex will outlast leather or nylon by a wide margin.
Polkowski Custom Knives - Sheaths

Sheaths are "Inside the Waist Band" (IWB) design and come with a permanently attached Kydex clip of my own design that fits over the belt.

They are made for a 1 1/2" belt width.

Two type of clips are available; (your choice)

Straight bottom similar to the IWB clips on gun holsters.

This is the most versatile design.

Angled bottom that keeps the sheath canted for the upfront appendix carry (Kasper angled carry)

Sheaths for most neck knives come with a ball chain and a Kydex J-hook that attaches to the sheath with a Chicago screw for IWB carry.
